V.F.W. Post 7666 received its Charter in 1946 and has been assisting veterans and others in town ever since.  Larry Santamaria is the Commander of the Post and is the backbone of the organization.  He strives to keep our members active in the community and is always prepared to help meet the needs of other veterans as well as those in need in our community.
Our Post is pleased to have both a Ladies' Auxiliary and a Men's Auxiliary who also support many causes through both local and national programs.   Many have heard about our local programs such as the scholarship that is given to a G.H.S. senior annually by the Men's Auxiliary and the Memorial Day Parade and Picnic sponsored by the V.F.W, but some may not know about the many programs that the National V.F.W. sponsors.  Much of our financial support goes to programs such as Operation Uplink which is a phone card program that helps to keep veterans and active duty service men and women in contact with their families and loved ones.  We are also proud of our record of sending hundreds of care packages to active duty personnel and sponsoring a bingo game at the VA with the hospitalized veterans on a regular basis.
Our goal at the V.F.W. is to make sure that every veteran knows they are never alone.  There is always a support system to help them when they are in need.  We have at our disposal, a lot of information and many contact people to assist with the trials and tribulations that sometimes occur with benefits etc. of our veterans.  We are here to share our knowledge and experience with those who need us.
We are also fortunate enough to have a hall that we make available to many organization and groups in town.  We regularly host events for youth athletic groups as well as Scouting groups and others who need a place to meet or to hold a fund-raising event.
